What is the Mesra Malaysia Course?
  • The Mesra Malaysia Course is a new module developed to replace the We Are The Host (WATH) module, which had been used since 2014;
  • The module was developed to provide comprehensive training to front-line personnel who are directly or indirectly involved in the tourism industry; and
  • This course is a mandatory prerequisite for tourist guides before they can be licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC).
Objectives of the Mesra Malaysia Course
  • To provide tourism industry players and front-line personnel with exposure to the current direction of Malaysia’s tourism industry;
  • To enhance understanding of the importance of customer service and strengthen the skills required to deliver excellent service;
  • To help participants understand the communication process, communication barriers and the use of more effective communication techniques; and
  • To create awareness and share information on the latest tourism products.
Who Should Attend?
  • This is a one-day course that is open to front-line personnel, tourism industry players and individuals who are directly or indirectly involved in the tourism industry;
  • Only trained instructors accredited as Mesra Malaysia Master Trainers by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia are permitted to conduct this training; and
  • Each participant who completes the course will receive a Course Participation Certificate from MOTAC.
What is Eco-Host Malaysia?

Eco-Host Malaysia was introduced by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting and conserving the environment. Eco-Host also aims to educate the public about current environmental conditions and how human activities affect natural ecosystems.

Why Attend the Eco-Host Course?

By attending the Eco-Host course, participants will gain a better understanding of the relationship between tourism and the environment, including local communities, as well as the importance of ecotourism and environmental responsibility.

How to Participate in Eco-Host?

The Eco-Host course is conducted by trained instructors and is offered at a fee of RM100.00. Upon completing the course, participants will receive an Eco-Host lapel pin and certificate in recognition of their successful completion.
