This statement announces the postponement of the Bank Guarantee implementation for outbound and umrah travel agencies to a new date on 1 January 2027. This decision was made to allow industry players more time to prepare following the impact of geopolitical conflicts in Central Asia which have affected the financial standing of the global tourism sector. Despite the implementation date being shifted, MOTAC’s primary goal remains focused on strengthening consumer protection, curbing umrah fraud, and enhancing industry professionalism for the overall well-being of tourists and pilgrims.
