Magistrate’s Court 2, Selayang, Selangor on 1 December 2025 sentenced Coachliner 707 Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd. [Company Registration No.: 199001007808 (199378 – K)] after the company pleaded guilty to the charge of failing to use the services of a licensed tour guide when operating domestic tourism activities.
Magistrate Tuan Chai Guan Hock convicted the company (hereinafter referred to as the Person Sued – “OKS”) of an offence under Regulation 6(1)(i)(iii) read with Regulation 6(2) of the Tourism Industry (Tourism Operation Business and Travel Agency Business) Regulations 1992 [P.U.(A) 333/1992].
For the offence, the Court has imposed a fine of Ringgit Malaysia Fifty Thousand (RM50,000.00) on OKS. If the company fails to pay the fine, it may be sentenced to imprisonment for two (2) years.
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) stresses that offences under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482] and its regulations are serious criminal offences. MOTAC will continue to take strict action against any party who violates the law, especially those who fail to use licensed tour guides which could affect the image and safety of the country’s tourism industry.
