INVITATION FOR NOMINATIONS: UN TOURISM BEST TOURISM VILLAGES 2024
INTRODUCTION
Nominations for the UN Tourism Best Tourism Villages recognition programme are now officially open. This initiative aims to identify and honour rural tourism destinations that exemplify sustainability across economic, social, and environmental dimensions, in line with the UN Agenda 2030 framework and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
Nominations are open to rural tourism destinations that meet the following criteria:

A population not exceeding 15,000 residents.

Located in an area that prioritises traditional activities such as agriculture, forestry, livestock farming, or fisheries.

Demonstrates shared community values and traditional lifestyles.

Submitted applications will be rigorously assessed based on 9 core evaluation pillars:
