The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has officially opened nominations for the 2026 National Arts Award (ASN) from 12 March 2026 until 11 May 2026. This highest recognition is dedicated to figures and practitioners in the fields of Music, Dance, Theatre, Craft, and Visual Arts.

Criteria & Award Categories

Nominations for the National Artist Award (Anugerah Seniman Negara) and Arts Practitioner Award (Anugerah Karyawan Seni) are open to all Malaysians, including individuals, NGOs, government agencies, and higher education institutions. Candidates must be Malaysian citizens with at least 25 years of expertise, remain active, and demonstrate consistent excellence and high talent in their respective fields. Additionally, the Arts Supporter Award (Anugerah Pendukung Seni) is open to departments and agencies under MOTAC for the Media, Corporate, and NGO categories.

Winner Incentives

• National Artist Award (1 Recipient): RM 60,000.00 cash, a certificate, ASN trophy, a set of national attire, appointment as MOTAC Guest Artist, work production incentives, biographical publication, and government hospital medical facilities.

• Arts Practitioner Award (5 Recipients): RM 30,000.00 cash, a certificate, and an ASN trophy for each field.

• Arts Supporter Award (3 Recipients): RM 10,000.00 cash, a certificate, and an ASN trophy.
