MOTAC Launches Safe2Spa Jom Spa Campaign Under Tourism Recovery Plan

22 December 2020 – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) today launched the Safe2Spa Jom Spa Campaign which will start today until 31 March 2021.

YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, in her speech, said this campaign was due to the Ministry’s concern for spa operators who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The implementation of this campaign will have a double impact on efforts to revive and revitalize the spa industry in this country. If this effort succeeds in achieving its goal, MOTAC will not hesitate to continue to provide injections so that the spa industry can continue to be strengthened.

Through the implementation of the Safe2Spa Jom Spa Campaign, 10,000 discount vouchers worth RM30 each will be distributed to customers at all spas and foot massage centres nationwide under the supervision of the AMSPA and MAWSPA Associations. Customers are eligible to redeem or enjoy a discount of RM30 with a minimum spend of RM60 ringgit and above in a single transaction receipt.

The allocation was given to the Malaysian Spa Association (AMSPA) and the Malaysian Health and Spa Association (MAWSPA) to assist and revive the spa and wellness industry in Malaysia.

Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy hopes that with the implementation of this campaign, it can help the spa and health industry in reviving their respective businesses, as well as continue to remain relevant in the market and be able to compete with other industries.

He also called on all spa and health industry operators to always comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the National Security Council (MKN) and always practice the new norm approach.
