Extension of the Relaxation Period for Tour Operator Companies Licensed Under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482]

22 December 2020 – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) has agreed to provide several relaxations effective 1 January 2021 under Section 4, Act 482 and the Regulations responsible for general supervision of all matters relating to the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482] as follows:

  1. Extension of relaxation in terms of premises size for licensed tour operator companies from 1 January 2021 until 30 June 2021;
  2. Extension of permission to conduct other businesses in the premises of tour operator companies from 1 January 2021 until 30 June 2021; and
  3. Extension of the rental period for business premises through co-share office space until 30 June 2021.
