Tourism Licensing and Enforcement Division

VISION
To establish and regulate a competitive and sustainable tourism industry in line with the socio-economic development of the nation’s tourism sector.

MISSION
To carry out licensing and enforcement functions for the tourism industry efficiently and effectively in accordance with the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482] and the Tourism Vehicles Licensing Act 1999 [Act 594], as well as their respective regulations.

OBJECTIVES / FUNCTIONS
   
 1. To establish and regulate the registration and licensing of the tourism industry systematically, with integrity and innovation.

 2. To enforce and administer the laws of registration and licensing of the tourism industry with commitment and integrity, in order to create a tourism industry with a culture of compliance to applicable laws.

 3. To register accommodation premises and to inspect and classify tourist accommodation premises, spas, and foot massage centres based on current procedures and rating criteria in force, to ensure compliance with established standards.

 4. To coordinate and manage matters related to prosecution and compound for offences under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482] and its Regulations, as well as the Tourism Vehicles Licensing Act 1999 [Act 594] and its Regulations.

 5. To plan, coordinate, and enforce compliance with the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482], the Tourism Vehicles Licensing Act 1999 [Act 594], and their respective Regulations.

 6. To process, review, develop, and evaluate policies related to the licensing of tour operators, tourism vehicles, tourism training institutes, and tour guides.
