WELCOME DINNER ASEAN CELEBRITY EXPLORE QUEST MALAYSIA 2016

Ladies and gentlemen.
1. It gives me great pleasure to bid all the participants of the ASEAN Celebrity Explore Quest Malaysia 2016 a very warm Selamat Datang or welcome to the charming city of Kuala Lumpur.

2. I can see that all of you are very excited to be here tonight. The excitement, the energy, and the positive feelings of the participants tonight augur well for the success of this programme.
Ladies and gentlemen, celebrities and media,
3. Malaysia is delighted to host and organise the ASEAN Celebrity Explore Quest Malaysia 2016 for the fourth time, as it brings together members of the media and celebrities from ASEAN countries. And you are all here for a special reason - to personally experience the many sights and sounds of Malaysia.
4. To maximise your exposure via social media, your unique adventures in this programme can be seen on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
5. Along with our partners and sponsors, we have created a weeklong programme that is a combination of various activities, such as explore quest, telematch, photo and Instagram contest, and group performances.
6. Besides Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, you will also travel to Sabah where you will be exposed to various segments of our tourism industry, such as culture, heritage, nature, and luxury tourism.
7. I hope all of you will share your stories about Malaysia with the rest of the world after this through your articles and social media, so that your readers and fans know you had such a great time in Malaysia.

8. Last year, 19.1 million tourists from the ASEAN region visited Malaysia, constituting 74 percent of our total arrivals. The first half of 2016 saw an increase of five percent in arrivals from ASEAN countries against the same period last year.
9. ASEAN is actually one big family. Each destination in the region has its own specialties and attractions that make it unique. In some ways, we are considered as complementing destinations. Medium and long-haul tourists normally visit more than one destination when they come to the region. Therefore, we must always work together to achieve win-win solutions.
10. Next year, ASEAN will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. To commemorate this significant milestone, all the ten ASEAN National Tourism Organisations have joined hands to develop a regional tourism campaign - "Visit ASEAN@50: Golden Celebration".
11. Therefore, Malaysia is committed to contribute towards the success of this campaign and 'Visit ASEAN YeaA very good evening to:
