About 248 delegates from Tourism Malaysia's Mega Familiarisation exercise are also expected to attend and witness one of the biggest tourism parades ever. Members of the media from the MegaFam exercise include writers, reporters and journalists from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia (Jakarta and Medan), Laos, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh), China (Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu), Japan (Tokyo), South Korea, Bangladesh, India (Chennai), Sri Lanka, Egypt, Iran, Kingdom of South Arabia, South Africa, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand and Turkey.

About Colours of 1Malaysia

The Colours of 1Malaysia is a collection of street performances that was first launched in 1999 by the Ministry of Tourism to highlight Malaysia's tourist attractions as well as to showcase Malaysia's cultural heritage through music, song and dance.

The annual event was first held at Dataran Merdeka with cultural performances from each state. In 2004, the event moved to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, maintaining the original Street Performance theme.

The 2005 edition was held at Stadium Merdeka while the 2006 edition at Dataran Merdeka. In 2007, it was held at Putrajaya Boulevard before returning to its original venue, Dataran Merdeka in 2009.

In 2010, a Mega Dikir Barat performance by 5,500 participants was given the recognition by the Malaysia Book of Records for the largest number of participants in a show.
