CLARIFICATION ON REPORT BY THE SUN DAILY ON AUGUST 14, 2013
The report on "Time Out for Two Ministry Websites" as appeared on August 14, 2013 in your newspaper refers.
2. It is inaccurate to state that the Ministry of Tourism and Culture's (MOTAC)website has not been updated for 16 days. As a matter of fact, there was a posting on MOTAC's licensing database with regards to information on tour operators on August 2, 2013. Besides, the website has been displaying the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY 2014) countdown that is being updated every day to enhance awareness and sense of belonging among all Malaysians with regards to VMY 2014. In addition, banners related to tourism events, such as Malaysian Open Kuala Lumpur 2013 ATP World Tour (21 -29 September) and World Tourism Conference 2013 (21-23 October) promoting upcoming events have been continuously posted for public information.
3. The Ministry also would like clarify that MOTAC's website is updated based on available information from time to time. We appreciate feedback and comments to further enhance our public delivery service to the people.
