Putrajaya, 14 May 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato\u2019 Sri Tiong King Sing, is undertaking a working visit to Singapore with theaim of deepening bilateral cooperation in tourism, expanding cross-borderconnectivity, and positioning Malaysia as a preferred travel destination for Singaporeans.<\/p>\n

The Minister will engage with key stakeholders in the tourism and transport sectors, including high-level meetings with Scoot Airlines and the Express and Excursion Bus Association (EBBA) of Singapore. These meetings are part of the Ministry\u2019s continuous efforts to enhance air and land accessibility between the two nations, facilitating a more convenient and seamless travel experience. <\/p>\n

The highlight of the itinerary is the Minister\u2019s presence at the Maybank Premier MM2H \u2013 Your Gateway to Malaysia event, taking place on 15 May 2025, at Caf\u00e9 Side, MSpace @ Maybank Tower, 2 Battery Road, Singapore. Organised in collaboration with Maybank Singapore, this high-profile event aims to spotlight the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, showcasing its wide-ranging benefits in investment, retirement, and lifestyle opportunities. It is expected to draw strong interest from Singapore\u2019s affluent and mobile community. <\/p>\n

All interested parties, including potential applicants, investors, and industry stakeholders, are encouraged to attend and engage directly with MM2H representatives to explore Malaysia\u2019s unique value as a second home destination. \u201cThis visit reflects Malaysia\u2019s commitment not only to revive but also to elevate regional tourism. We are here to build meaningful partnerships and invite Singaporeans to experience Malaysia not just as tourists, but as long-term residents and investors,\u201d said YB Dato\u2019 Sri Tiong King Sing. <\/p>\n

In 2024, Malaysia welcomed 18,855,680 visitors from Singapore, representing a 27.2% increase from 2023 and surpassing the pre-pandemic 2019 figure by 10.7%. Singapore thus remains a vital market for Malaysia\u2019s tourism industry. The MM2H programme has similarly drawn strong interest, with Singapore ranking as the third-highest source country for applications in Q1 2025\u2014trailing only Taiwan and China. Singaporean visitors also contributed RM27.94 billion in tourism receipts in 2024, an increase of 29.5% from the previous year. <\/p>\n

Through this visit, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture reaffirms its commitment to revitalising travel between Malaysia and Singapore, fostering long-term tourism and lifestyle engagement while highlighting Malaysia as a warm, dynamic, and future-ready destination.<\/p>\n
